November 27, 1928 - March 24, 2018

The Leon Journal-Reporter
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa

Anna Mae (Schluterman) Everett, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2018. She was born November 27, 1928, in Subiaco, Arkansas, the daughter of Henry John and Ida Marie Schluterman.

She lived in Subiaco until she graduated from high school in 1947. She married Donald Robert Everett in 1951, at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas where he was stationed in the Army. Together they raised five children in Texas, mostly in the Dallas or Houston area.

Ann lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, reunions at Camp Sionito (where she went every summer with family), entertaining, cooking, church, and much more. She was an active member of the Community of Christ Church where she served in many areas. She became a strong Graceland advocate as all five children and spouses attended. Also, all 14 grandchildren attended and hopefully some of the 24 great grandchildren, and counting, will attend. In 2001, she was awarded honorary alumni of Graceland University by then President Dave Clinefelter – an honor she cherished.

Survivors include daughter, Debbie & Dwight Hines, Beaumont Texas, son, Shannon & Rosemary Everett of Mansfield Texas, son, Kelly & Teri Everett of Lamoni, Iowa, and son, Tim & Vicki Everett of Midland, Texas; grandchildren include Casey Hines, Corey & Jolyn Hines, Clayton & Maykala Hines, Elizabeth & Kevin Lloyd, Jake & Erin Everett, Jennifer & Dan Doerfler, Shane & Marilyn Everett, Chad & Brittany Everett, Christy Everett, Kelsie & Benjy Lewis, Charlie & Mares Persall, and Catelin Persall; 24 and counting great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Larry Komp of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Don Everett, and daughter, Katie Persall, and her husband, Charles.

Memorial services will be held at the Lamoni Community of Christ at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, with visitation 1-3 p.m. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Lamoni, Iowa. Arrangements were through the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home, Leon and Lamoni, Iowa.
