Weston Klyne (Sam) Boyd was born February 20, 1963 the son of William (Bill) and Linda (Andrew) Boyd in Mt Ayr, Iowa. He started his education in Lucas, Iowa and graduated from Gilman City High School in 1981. The Boyd family moved to the Jameson and Gallatin area in 1976. Sam was united in marriage to Cindy Gutshall August 12, 1983 in Gilman City. The couple made their home on a farm near Gallatin where they raised their 3 daughters.

Sam had two passions in life; farming and hunting. He began farming as a young boy with his dad, Bill and began to buy his own land to farm on his own. Sam worked sun up to sun down and was so proud of his crops. Sam, his dad and his brother Jim decided to turn their shared passion of hunting into a business and opened Zeroed Inn, a gun shop on the Penny farm. There wasn't a gun or bow that he couldn't shoot or fix. Sam’s passion for hunting lead into his love for sporting clays. He entered and won many shooting events, and was very proud of his score of 99 out of 100 shots in a tournament. He was an avid deer, turkey and elk hunter and made many hunting trips to Colorado with his hunting buddies. He enjoyed being with the guys and in the outdoors. He was especially proud of the fact that his girls enjoyed to hunt too and was proud of the fact that their shooting skills were just as accurate as his was. Sam raised cattle and hogs and spent all his time outdoors. Sam was a loving husband, Dad and Grandpa who made lasting relationships wherever he went; he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Sam was preceded in death by his Dad William (Bill) Boyd.

Survivors include his wife Cindy of the home, daughters, Whitney Boyd and fiancé Jeremy Esry of Trenton, Carly Boyd, Sami Boyd, mother, Linda Boyd, sister, Tina Esbeck and husband Kurt, brother, Jim Boyd and wife Teri all of Gallatin, sister, Bea Ann Ledgerwood and husband Jody of Blythdale, brother-in-law Jim Gutshall and wife Sandy of Gilman City, brother-in-law Terry Gutshall of Gilman City and granddaughter Carter.

Arrangements were handled by McWilliam Family Funeral Homes, Inc. of Gallatin, Missouri.
