STATE NEWS

A few days ago the dead body of Mr. Dilsaver, Sheriff of Decatur County, was found in an open field near Leon, his feet in the stirrups of his dead horse, and his clothing torn off from his head to his legs; Mr. D. was a popular and highly esteemed citizen.

Note: Albert Dilsaver was a Civil War Veteran. He married Esther M. Field Dec. 19, 1861.He served as Decatur County Sheriff in 1876, and was 37 years old. He was interred at Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.
