Leon, Decatur County, IowaGeorge W. Harvens was born Jan 11, 1854 at Delaware, Ohio and died May 4, 1932. At age 10 he moved with his parents to Cambery Kankakee county Illinois. He moved to Iowa in 1892. Feb 20, 1878 he married Ruth F. Larkin. They had six children; Lena Mae who died in infancy; Archie of Ames, Iowa; Mabel B Euritt of Fowler, Colorado; Ray and Roy of Decatur, Iowa; Walter L. of Centerville, Iowa. Besides his wife and children he left thirteen grandchildren: Mrs. Virgil Banker, Edith and Bruce Euritt of Fowler, Colo., George and Lewis Havens of Amos, Iowa, Daniel Havens of Pontiac, Michigan, Ruth, Madge, Mercedes, Horace and Arthur Havens of Decatur, Iowa and Bobby and Jean Havens of Centerville, Iowa.
Funeral services were held May 7, 1932 in Decaur Iowa. Burial was in the Decatur cemetery.
