J.W. NEWELL dropped dead at Weldon last
Saturday while playing a game of
croquet at his home. MRS. NEWELL was away
from home at the time being
over in the east part of that town gathering
some flowers to be used for
Memorial Day, when news of her husband's
death reached her. A physician
was quickly summoned but nothing could be
done, death having occurred
almost instantly. The funeral was held
Tuesday afternoon.
