Thursday, October 12, 2017Jeffery Lynn Foland, age 50, of Leon, Iowa, the son of Ronald Roe and Sondra Lee (Comer) Foland, was born April 20, 1967, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa. He died at his home on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
Jeff and his family began his life living in Grand River, Iowa. When he was in elementary school the family moved to the farm north of Decatur, Iowa. He graduated from Central Decatur High School in 1986. Then he worked several places before starting to work for his dad. There he farmed and drove semi truck hauling grain. Jeff always enjoyed a good time and spending time with his family and friends.
In May of 2008, Jeff married Peggy Sue Sego. They made their home north of Decatur. They enjoyed smoking meats and competing in cook off contests. Jeff also loved to go four wheeling, hunting, fishing, and camping.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Sondra Foland in 2009; grandparents, Cloyd and Doris Foland and Joe and Reta Comer; uncles, Gary Foland, Richard and Ada Belle Foland, and Larry Comer; parents-in-law, George Sego and Judy Sego.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of Leon, Iowa; dad, Ron Foland, of Leon; sister, Renita and Dan Gray of Leon; nieces, Brandi and Glenn Oesch and Daniell and Mike Dyer; great niece and nephews, Dakota Fry, Payton Fry, and Seth Dyer; stepchildren, Allen and Jamie Sego of Decatur, Katie Jones and fiancé, Casey Johnson, and ShayDe Sego and fiancé, Trevin Hill of Greenfield, Iowa; step grandchildren, Mason Sego, Aden Sego, Summit Hill, Ellie Hill, Jeggsley Hill, and expected Kinzelee Johnson; aunt and uncle, Debbie and Mike Courtney of Leon; and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, with Pastor Dale Short officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established by the Family.
