MARIETTA M. COOVER was born near New Holland,
Fayette County, Ohio,
September 26th, l836; died at Osborn, Mo, May
9th, l9l5; aged 78 years,
7 months and l3 days. Early in life she was
converted and united with
the Presbyterian Church. She was united in
marriage with CLOSSON
CAMPBELL on August 2, l852. To this union
two daughters and three sons
were born, all of whom, with the aged
husband, survive. They are MRS.
JOHN MUSE, of Leon, MRS. MARTIN NEWMAN, of
Waunsetta, Wyoming, S.M.
CAMPBELL, of Osborn, Mo., J.C. CAMPBELL, of
Leon and W.C. CAMPBELL, of
Des Moines.

In the spring of l862 the family removed from
Ohio to Leon, being among
the first settlers of this town. They have
since resided in our near
this place, living for the last 46 years on
the same farm, until last
fall when they went to live with their son,
S.M., at Osborn, Mo., where
she peacefully passed away at 5:20 Sunday
afternoon. After her removal
to Iowa she united with the M.E. Church here,
of which church she has
since remained a member. She leaves, besides
her husband and five
children, sixteen grandchildren, six great
grandchildren, and a host of
friends to mourn her death.

The body was brought to Leon on the afternoon
train Tuesday, and the
funeral services were held in the M.E.
Church, conducted by Rev. Guy J.
Fansher, the Pastor. The remains were laid
to rest in the Leon
Cemetery. The sympathy of the community goes
out to the bereaved
family.
