Brenda Lee Young, age 56, of Humeston, Iowa, the daughter of James Raymond “Pete” Sheesley and Joyce Ann (Easton) Norris, was born March 9, 1961, in Osceola, Iowa. She passed from this life on Monday, April 17, 2017, at her home.

Brenda grew up in Osceola and attended school through her junior year of high school before transferring to Mormon Trail Schools in Garden Grove, Iowa. She graduated at semester in 1980. She was married on April 18, 1980, to Craig James Young in Leon, Iowa. They were blessed with four children, Julie, Nicole, Jonathan, and Jamie. The family lived in Humeston, Iowa.

Over the years, Brenda worked as a cook in many restaurants and cafes in the Humeston area, at the Mormon Trail School, and at the Humeston Community Center. Her last employment was at Walmart in Osceola for seven years. Currently, she was watching her grandchildren.

In her free time Brenda enjoyed cooking for the family, talking, helping others, going to the casino, but most of all, being with her family and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents; mother, Joyce Norris; stepfather, Bob Norris; and several aunt and uncles.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years the day after her death, Craig Young, of Humeston, Iowa; children, Julie Young and fiancé, Zach Barger, of Derby, Iowa, Niki and Bill Hoover, Jon Young, and Jamie Young, all of Humeston, Iowa; grandchildren, Hudson and Haddler Barger; father and stepmother, Pete and Pat Sheesley of Osceola, Iowa; sister, Sandy Moore and husband, Doug, of Humeston; brother, Matt Norris and friend, Jeannine Houser, of Chariton, Iowa; step siblings, Tammy and John Deering, Tonya and Don Kelso, Teresa and Evan Graham, Jeff and Linda Norris, and Terry and Don Clark; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, with Pastor Ron Barker officiating. Burial will be in the Humeston Cemetery, Humeston, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established by the Family.
