Obituary ~ Robert Louis "Bob" Norris

Leon, Decatur County, IowaRobert “Bob” Louis Norris, age 74, the son of William Louis and Mary Opal Norris, was born on May 2, 1942, in Decatur County, Iowa. He left this earth on March 30, 2017, at his home in Humeston, Iowa.
Bob married Pat Blanchard and together they were blessed with 5 children, Tammy, Tonya, Teresa, Jeff, and Terry.
On February 24, 1979, he married Joyce Ann (Easton) Sheesley. Bob accepted her two daughters, Brenda and Sandy, into his big heart as his own. Together they were blessed with a son, Matt.
Bob worked construction in his younger years, some along side his father. He worked as a home delivery milkman, in Hy-Vee wholesale, and then began driving a semi for Hy-Vee before retiring. He and Joyce moved to Lineville where they owned and operated BJ’s Restaurant in Mercer, Missouri, while he also worked for PSF, Premium Standard Farms.
After Joyce passed in February of 2004, he moved back to Humeston to be close to his family.
Bob loved his family and his St. Louis Cardinals (almost as much as his family), and he would do anything for them. He loved hunting, and when you were visiting with him you could hear many memories of each.
Survivors include his children, Tammy and John Deering of San Antonio, Texas, Tonya and Don Kelso of Osceola, Iowa, Teresa and Evan Graham of Lamoni, Iowa, Jeff and Linda Norris of Humeston, Iowa, Terry and Don Clark of Osceola, Iowa, and Matt Norris and Jeannine Houser of Chariton, Iowa; step children include Brenda and Craig Young and Sandy and Doug Moore, all of Humeston; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a very special companion, Shirley Colwell, of Humeston. His siblings include Bill and Jeannie Norris of Chariton, Iowa, Kaye Easton of Pella, Iowa, Sherry and David Peters of Leon, Iowa, and Mary Kuhfus of Iowa Falls, Iowa; sister-in-law, Alice Norris of St. Joseph, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Joyce Norris; brother, Larry Norris; and sisters, Helen Wolfe, Velma Eilders, Carole Zimmerman, and Martha Green.
Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017, with Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.
