Leon, Decatur County, IowaDiana Lynn Foltz, age 71, of Lineville, Iowa, the daughter of John Preston and Esther Corda (Leech) Morgan, was born May 16, 1945, in Moline, Illinois. She died on May 7, 2017, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Diana’s family moved from Moline to Garden Grove, Iowa before she started school. She attended and graduated from Mormon Trail High School in 1963. On June 19, 1963, she and Osa Wayne Foltz were married in Davis City, Iowa. They started out their married life together living southeast of Leon, Iowa in Woodland Township. They lived all of their married life in Decatur County except for a few years in Lineville, Iowa. They have been on their current farm since 1969. They were blessed with one son, Mike.
Over the years Diana was a wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She and Osa owned and operated the Dairy Delite Quick Stop in Lineville from 1974 until 1978. She was also a self-employed saleswoman. She sold everything from Amway to Tupperware. She also worked as a waitress in multiple places, a day care center, and as a cook in a nursing home.
She was baptized into the Church of Christ at age 17, in Leon. She continued to be a faithful member until her death.
In her free time, Diana loved to watch basketball, both Iowa and Iowa State, attend all her son’s and grandchildren’s activities, watch people, and make friends. She was a very giving person, always putting herself last.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and all her siblings, Don Morgan, Dona Morris, and Dee Ann Hultman.
Survivors include her husband, Osa Foltz of Lineville, Iowa; son, Mike Foltz and wife, Jenn, of Lineville; four grandchildren, Michael Alexander “Alex” Foltz of Lineville, Marcus Foltz and fiancé, Brittany Brooks, of Davenport, Iowa, Matthew Foltz, and Morgan Foltz, both of Lineville; great granddaughter, Lilian Michele Foltz of Davenport; sister-in-law, Joyce Morgan of New Virginia, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Bob Morris and Richard Hultman, both of Ankeny, Iowa; nieces and nephews; extended family, Sarah and Jason Dale of Leon, Dawn Roach of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Kim Anderson of Cameron, Missouri and her daughters, and Ken and Linda Kemmerer of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, with Richard Reinhardt, Jr. officiating. Burial is in the Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove, Iowa.
