Obituary ~ Carroll Doss "Gib" Gibson
January 29, 1937 ~ November 17, 2015Marlow OK: Carroll (Gib) Doss Gibson, 78, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in Marlow, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Eastside Baptist Church, with David Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Gib was born Friday, January 29, 1937 in Leon, IA, to Bert and Mary (Bartlett) Gibson. Gib attended Leon High School in Iowa and later served in the United States Army. He married Peggy Davis December 23, 1963 in Wichita Falls. He has lived in Marlow for the past 50 years. Gib worked for American Pre Cast and also owned and operated Mary Twice is Nice in Rush Springs for 20+ years. Gib loved archery, wood working, fishing and tinkering around with different things. He enjoyed going to auctions and helping others. Gib had to stay busy doing something. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include, wife: Peggy Gibson of Marlow; Son: Gary Gibson of Marlow; 2 Daughters: Mary Slawson & husband Joe of Rush Springs; Sue Nooner & husband Gerald of Marlow; 9 Grandchildren: Bryan Willis, Shawn Slawson, Travis Slawson, Sharde Nooner, Zechariah Nooner, Alexis Nooner, Aaron Nooner, Joseph Slawson, Amanda Scott 19 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Gladys Ritter of Des Moines, IA; Bernita Gibson of Des Moines, IA; Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
Carroll was preceded in death by Parents, 5 brothers, Garrett Gibson, Eddie Gibson, Raymon Gibson, Wilber Gibson, Walter Gibson, 2 sisters, Ida Smith, and Edith Sutton.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
