Leon, Decatur County, IowaLouise S. Garber, age 100, a resident of Wheaton and Winona Lake, IN, died Friday, July 19, at her home in Wheaton.
She was born on June 26, 1902 to William D. and Alice Stone in Huntington, Ohio.
Mrs. Garber is survived by three children, Marguerite E. McBride of Ft. Bragg, CA; Mary (Johnnie) Dimas of Wheaton; and David L. (Mariel) Garber of Texas, fourteen grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Margaret Painter of Hemet, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Garber, her parents, a granddaughter, Linda Dimas Collins, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, from 3 until 7 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Chris Brown officiating.
Interment will be held on Tuesday in Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.
The family as asked that in her memory that friends plant a Peace Rose and think of her as it blooms each year.
Hultgren Funeral Home of Wheaton, IN, is in charge of arrangements.
