Bill Gene Thompson, age 75, of Jerome, Iowa, the son of Albert Clem “Ab” and Norma Elizabeth (Rousseau) Thompson, was born December 5, 1940, in Leon, Iowa. He died at Park Ridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, Iowa on Friday, August 26, 2016.

Bill graduated in 1960, the first graduating class from Mormon Trail High School. Bill was a farmer and an inventor. He took after his Grandfather Rousseau with his passion for inventing. He also loved music, especially lively music.

In July 1976, Bill married Nancy Sue Skipper. They made their home at Jerome, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, O.D. and Roxie Rousseau and Oren and Agnes Thompson; and his wife, Nancy on June 20, 2013.

Survivors include his sister, Portia Halferty and companion Mark Levine of Altoona, Iowa; brother, Ted Thompson of Overland Park, Kansas; nephews, Rick Halferty and Bob Halferty of the Des Moines, Iowa area; niece, Pam Kvitne and husband, David of the Des Moines area; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Burial will be in the Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove, Iowa.
