Decatur County Journal
December l0, l9l4

Just as preparations had all been made to
move from the home near
Kenesaw, Neb., to Wisconsin, and while the
husband was in that state,
MRS. ED BROWN died suddenly of pneumonia
fever. The body was brought to
Decatur City, Ia., MRS. BROWN's former home,
where the funeral services
were conducted in the Methodist Church on
Wednesday morning, December 2,
by Rev. Guy J. Fansher, Pastor of the
Methodist Church in Leon.

The following obituary was read at the
service: CLARA BELLE WRIGHT,
daughter of DAVID and MATILDA WRIGHT, was
born near Gladstone, Ill.,
February 28, l877, and died at her home near
Hastings, Neb., November
26, l9l4, aged 37 years, 8 months and 27
days.

She was married to EDWARD BROWN, of Decatur,
Ia., in the month of
November, l898. To this union were born five
children. She leaves to
mourn her loss a loving husband, five
children, five sisters and one
brother and a host of near relatives and
friends. Her death was sudden
and has shocked her neighbors and dear
friends. She will be sadly
missed in her home as she was so good and
willing to do anything to make
them happy. Five years ago she united with
the Christian Church in
Nebraska. She was so cheerful and always
tried to make others happy.
