OBITUARY

Lillie Mae Gray, daughter of Newton and Ella Gray, was born in Marion County, Iowa, September 25, 1875, and passed away after an extended illness at the Decatur County Hospital on April 22, 1955, at the age of 79 years and seven months. She was the youngest of a family of three children.

On March 20, 1898 she was united in marriage to Allen Fair Naylor at Kellerton, Iowa. Two sons were born to this home. Her youth was spent in the vicinity of Kellerton, Iowa.

After her marriage she resided in Decatur County, living on the farm until Mr. Naylor retired and the home was established in Decatur.

When a young woman she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Christian church at Kellerton. In later years she became a member of the Elk Chapel Methodist church.

She is survived by her sons, Murvon L. of Decatur and Leland H. of Des Moines; three grandsons; Lawrence of West Union, Garvin, of the Armed Forces, and Glen of Decatur; one brother: Charles Gray of Omaha, Nebraska; and one sister, Belle Peterson of Afton; also 3 half sisters: Sue Delaney, of Pheonix, Ariz., Viola Craig and Lizzie Skinner , of Mt Ayr; and three half brothers: Matt Gray, Decatur, Zeb Gray, Lamoni, and Bricie Gray, of Tama, Iowa.

Since Mr. Naylors death in 1953, she has made her home with her sons. From a world of sorrow and care she has said goodnight here, but good morning up there.

Final rites were held from the Slade Funeral Home, Sunday April 24, 1955, at 2:00p.m., conducted by the Rev. George S. Snyder of the Decatur Methodist church. Burial was in Leon Cemetery.
