VAN WERT NEWS;

Rev. A.B. Cornell was called to Clarke County
Sunday to conduct the
funeral services of MRS. RITCHARDSON, who
died on Saturday. On the
saturday previous she stepped on a nail and
although it gave her no
trouble for several days, it at last grew
worse and resulted in lockjaw
from which she died on Saturday, just one
week from the time the
accident occurred. The grief stricken
relatives have the sympathy of
scores of friends in this sudden and very sad
bereavement. She leaves a
husband, two daughters and two sons, her aged
parents and several
brothers and sisters and while we know so
well how bitter the parting
and how intense the longing for the sound of
the voice and footstep
which they shall near no more on earth. They
have the consolation of
knowing that mother is "safe in the arms of
Jesus," where there will be
no more parting and sorrow and suffering will
be no more.

"Is it not sweet to think
hereafter

When the soul shall leave
this sphere

Love with deathless wings shall
waft for here,

To those she long hath
mourned for her

Hearts from whom 'twas death to
serve

Eyes this world can ne'er
restore,

There as warm and bright as
ever.

They shall meet to part no
more.
