MARY BLAIR, youngest daughter of JOHN and
MARY BLAIR, was born June 30,
l830 in Cumberland Valley, Penn., and died at
the home of her son, W.N.
PERDEW, Leon, Ia., November 2l, l9l4, being
at the time of her death 84
years, 4 months and 22 days of age.

She was united in marriage to NATHAN PERDEW,
November 28, l850. In the
spring of l85l they came to Iowa and settled
in Lee County. Then in
l856 came to Decatur County and located in
the north part of the county
near Van Wert. In the fall of l862 they
removed to Leon, which has
since been their home. Her husband having
died the 3lst of March, l898.

MRS. PERDEW joined the Methodist Church when
a young girl, and she with
her husband, helped to organize the first
church at Prairie City, now
Van Wert, and when they came to Leon, they of
course joined the
congregation here, which has since been their
home. She is survived by
five children, thirteen grandchildren and
fourteen great grandchildren,
who with other relatives and friends are left
to mourn the loss of a
kind and affectionate mother and friend.

The funeral services were held at the Leon
Methodist Church on Tuesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Guy
J. Fansher.
A large number of friends and relatives were
assembled to express their
sympathy and to show their love for Sister
PERDEW , whom they had known
as a woman of fine Christian spirit, a true
woman. Interment in the
Leon Cemetery.
