ELIZABETH LEWIN was born in Castletown, Isle
of Man, February l9, l838;
died August 25, l9l4, aged 76 years, 6 months
and 6 days. On August 24,
l86l, she was united in marriage to THOMAS
QUAYLE, of Castletown, Isle
of Man. To this union were born nine
children, all of whom were at her
bedside when she died, save one daughter,
MRS. HANNAH JOHNSON, who was
unable to come on account of poor health.

She came with her husband and family from the
old country to Warren
County, Ill., in April, l870. They moved
from there to Decatur County,
Iowa in the fall of the same year where they
have lived through all
these years. She united with the Methodist
Church in early life. She
was a good Christian woman. She leaves her
husband, six sons and three
daughters to mourn her departure. They are
MRS. HANNAH JOHNSON,
Conejos, Colo.; THOMAS JANES, of Garden
Grove; WILLIAM, of Monmouth,
Ill.; CHARLEY HENRY, of Garden Grove; MRS.
MARTHA ISABEL BOYNTON, EMMA
and WALTER at home; GEORGE EDWIN, of
Ottumwa, Ia.; CLYDE ALBERT, of
Monmouth, Ill.

MRS. QUAYLE was a good neighbor, a kind
friend, a loving mother and a
faithful wife. She will be missed in her
home and among her friends.
The funeral services were conducted from the
home four miles west of
Garden Grove, J.G. Duling, of Garden Grove
had charge of the services
and preached the funeral sermon. The music
was furnished by S.H. Amos,
Miss Eva Jennings, Mrs. Lena Brown and the
Minister, Mr. Duling. A
large procession of friends followed the
remains to the Garden Grove
Cemetery where the body was interred.
