The many Leon friends of MISS EDITH HARROLD,
who has been staying a
great deal of the time at the home of MR. and
MRS. O.H. STONER, in this
city, were shocked last Saturday upon
learning that she had passed away
that morning at the home of her parents, near
Blythedale, Mo. MISS
HARROLD had not been well for some time and
on Sunday before her death,
went from Leon to her home. She was up and
about the place until the
middle of the week when she became very ill
and grew steadily worse
until her death resulted.

MISS HARROLD had made many warm friends
during the few months that she
had been in Leon and all sympathize deeply
with the bereaved family.
The funeral was held Sunday. MR. and MRS. ED
KEMP, and MISSES ELEANOR
IRONSIDE and LILLIAN PULLIN, of Leon,
attended the funeral which was
held at the home near Blythedale. They drove
down in MR. KEMP's car.

IN MEMORIAM

Whereas in the providence of God, He has seen
fit to call from our
midst, a member of our congregation,
therefore be it resolved:

First: That in this visitation we bow in
submission to the wisdom of our
Heavenly Father, and that in the death of
MISS EDITH HARROLD, August 29,
l9l4, the Sabbath School and congregation of
the First Presbyterian
Church of Leon, Iowa, has lost a faithful and
zealous member; one whom
during the short time she was amongst us, we
had come to love and
appreciate for her noble Christian character
and for her work's sake.

Second: That we are glad to testify to her
active and efficient service,
both in the Sabbath School and the church
choir and that her desire and
willingness to serve, attended her even to
the last possible service
which she was privileged to render, when so
very sweetly she sang a solo
for the Sabbath School on the last Sunday
before her death.

Third: That we extend to her bereaved family
our deepest sympathy and
that too with the certain faith that she is
reaping the reward of a
beautiful Christian life and a loving
service.

Fourth: That a copy of these resolutions be
sent to the family of the
deceased; a copy spread on our minutes and a
copy be printed in the Leon
papers.

--THE COMMITTEE

Leon, Ia., August 30,
l9l4.
