Betty Roberta McMurphy, 72, of Garden Grove, daughter of William Warren and Mary Amanda "Mayme" Deets Beaman, was born July 26, 1927, in Hopeville and died April 3, 2000, as the result of injuries stustained in an automobile accident near Garden Grove.

A joint memorial service for Mr. and Mrs. McMurphy was held April 7 at Leon, the Rev. Terry Roberts officiating. Burial of the cremains was in Hopeville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Garden Grove Fire Department.
