IVAN L. MASSEY was born Nov. 12, 1914 on a farm near Woodland, Iowa, youngest son of ETHEL SYLVESTER and EUGENE MASSEY, and died Dec. 11, 1978 at the Aurora Presbyterian Hospital, Aurora, Colo.

On April 9, 1939 he married LEAH ORPHA POTTER and to this union two children were born: DENNIS D. MASSEY, Lakewood, Colo., and JANIS J. THOMAS, Aurora. Colo.

IVAN farmed in Iowa 20 years and moved his family to Colorado in 1961. He worked as a machinist for the Colorado Serum Company 17 years, retiring in 1976, due to poor health.

He was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church, serving as song leader many years. He was active in several quartets.

Survivors are DENNIS and JANIS; daughter-in-law, MARIE; son-in-law, RONALD THOMAS; three grandchildren; GREGORY, DENISE and MARIE MASSEY; three sisters; JENNIE JOHNSON, Osceola, Iowa; ARDNA SHORT, Flippin, Ark.; brother, MILES MASSEY Lineville, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were wife LEAH, 1975; parents; three brothers: FRANKLIN, RUSSELL and SYLVESTER.

[Interment was made at Leon Cemetery.]
