The Journal is in receipt of a communication
from Abe B. Wilson, of the
Kansas Soldier's Home near Leavenworth,
stating that MOSES E. THORPE,
formerly of Leon, had passed away at the home
on the evening of August
9th. He was many years ago well and
favorably known in Leon, Chariton
and Garden Grove.

He practiced law in this city at one time and
was well liked by all.
Mr. Wilson states that he was popular with
his comrades at the Home and
was for several years the mail carrier for
Company "N". He was placed
at rest Tuesday of this week.

Mr. Wilson requests that Garden Grove and
Chariton papers please copy.
