WOODROW WILSON LEE, son of RICHARD ELLIS and MAUDE MORIAH NORMAN LEE, was born July 23, 1916 near Decatur, Iowa and died Feb. 13, 1983 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, age 66.

He grew up in Decatur County, attended and graduated from the Decatur School.

On Sept. 28, 1940 he was united in marriage to LEATH BRENIZER. They have lived in Davis City. WOODY served in the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

He farmed; and worked for Halletts Construction of Boone, Iowa for 12 years. He had been in ill health 7 years. WOODY and LEATH had no children of their own, but opened their home to care for 27 other children.

Preceding him in death were parents; 3 brothers: ROBERT, FRANCIS and BRUCE; and sister WILMA VOORHEES.

Survivors are his widow, LEATH, Davis City; sister, RUBY PETERS, Leon, bother, RAYMOND, Osceola; nieces and nephews; KATHY, raised as a daughter, and her son, JESSE; other relatives and friends.
