The engaged in the grocery business and at the time of his death was one of two business men who have been in business here since the town started.

ALVIN HYATT was the soul of honor, loved and respected by all who knew him, especially was he a favorite with little children, who were always welcome at his store. As a citizen and neighbor he was greatly respected. While always living a Christian life, he had never united with any church until shortly before his death, when he was baptized and taken into the M. E. church.

The funeral services were held from the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 the services being conducted by Rev. S.M. UHASE, pastor of the church. The Odd Fellows, of which order the deceased had been a member for many years, attended the services in a body and escorted his remains to their last resting place in Holyoke cemetery. Many beautiful flowers testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. The business houses were closed during the afternoon. In the death of Mr. HYATT the community loses an exemplary citizen whom the town will greatly miss. The bereaved wife has the deepest sympathy of all in her bereavement.
