Whitney Boyd Halstead, 52 Evanston, Ill. died Jan. 6, at the Northwestern University Hospital, Chicago, complications from a kidney transplant preformed early in November and subsequent rejection in late December was the cause of death.

Memorial services was held at Hebbblethwaite Funeral Home, Evanston, Jan. 10, followed by cremation. Final burial will be at Van Wert Cemetery.

Whitney has been Professor of History of Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago 30 years.

Survivors are his mothers, Florence M. Halstead, Westview Acres, Leon; brother, Maurice Halstead and family, Valley, Neb.

An annual Whiney Halstead Art Scholarship has been established at the School of The Art Institute, Chicago, and memorials should be sent to the institute in care of Slade Funeral Home.
