Going Home

Loved ones, let me not be giving
Such anguish to your faces,
Dying is only living
In another place.
And think not
I'd be leaving
In distant lands to roam
Nor be too greatly grieving
I'm only going home.
Home, where I'll be waiting
At the door for you
To hear your footsteps at evening
Just as I used to do.

[Interment was made at Mountain View Cemetery, Goldendale, Klickitat County, Washington.]
