Lowell H. Greene, 77, of 708 New York Ave., Creston, passed away Thursday morning, March 30, 1989 at Great Community Hospital [Creston].He was a resident of the Mount Ayr and Lamoni communities until moving to Creston in 1961. He was a life insurance agent, and a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Elk Lodge No. 605 in Creston.

Mr. Greene is survived by his wife, Winnie of Creston; a daughter, Carralou and husband, Bill Hanson of Creston; a son, Gary Lee and wife, Shirley Greene of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Winona Alexander of Afton and Mae Smith of Leon; and two brothers, Earl of Grand River and Orville Greene of Tingley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Keating-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Creston with the Revs. Kathy Raines and M. Wayne Clark officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr.
