Beryl Bethards was born to George and Goldie Bethards June 14, 1915 in Woodland, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Chester Cartwright Feb. 14, 1935 at Corydon, Iowa. They had two daughters: Janet and Nancy.

They spent most of their married life in Decatur and Clarke counties and then moved to Cresco in 2000 due to failing health.

Beryl Cartwright loved to cook and bake for her family and took great pride in being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was an Avon representative for many years and enjoyed meeting people.

Beryl Louisa (Bethards) Cartwright was preceded in death by her parents; George and Goldie; in-laws Clarence and Mabel; sister Floy (Ray) Sparks; Gerada (Bud) Richardson; Dorothy (Arnold) Sparks and Beulah (Dave) Fisher and brothers Delbert and Gerald and sister-in-laws Virginia and Kay.

Interment will be made at Leon Cemetery at a later date.
