Helen Lucile (Manchester) Campbell was born to Charles Leroy and Susan Raleitha (Perks) Manchester on October 29, 1922 in rural Decatur County. Helen passed on December 26, 2013 in Mount Ayr.

Helen married Glenn Garland Campbell at Bethany MO July 6, 1938. The marriage was blessed with four children, Gary Lee, Sheryl Ann, Dennis Glenn and Susan Diane.

Helen enjoyed living on the farm taking care of the animals and raising a garden. In 1957 she started working at HyVee in Mount Ayr and retired in 1982. Despite her busy schedule she always had lots of time for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Glenn of 69 years; her parents; great-grand daughter Kelsey Ann Stephens; daughter-in-law Donna Mae Campbell; sister Rowena and husband Stanley Melos and their son Roy Dean; sister Margerita and husband Thomas Joe Dobson; mother and father-in-law Mable and Will Campbell; sister-in-law Phyllis and husband Pete Daniels; sister-in-law Corrine and husband Bud Hamaker; brother-in-law Nick and wife Georgia Campbell and their son Allen; and brother-in-law Kenneth Campbell.

Cherishing her memory are her children Gary and wife Jean Campbell of Leon and their family; Sheryl and husband Robert Smith of Dexter, MN and family; Dennis Campbell of Kellerton and family; Susan and husband Jerry Schaefer of Creston and family; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and friends. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr is in charge of her arrangements.

Services were Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Leon Cemetery in Leon with Reverend Edward Shields officiating.
