W. Gerald (Rich) Richards, 93, formerly of Colo, died Sept. 29 [2000] in Jacksonville, Fla.

He was born July 12, 1907, in Garden Grove to to Marion and Georgia Richards. He married Dorothy White of Colo on Sept. 21, 1929. He spent his life in Iowa until his retirement when he and his wife moved to Florida. There he spent his remaining years. He was a member of the Za Ga Zig Shriners in Des Moines and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Survivors include three daughters, Joanne Hamilton of Jacksonville, Fla., Marian Kelley of Lenexa, Kan., and Jane (Hugh) Scott of Richville, Minn.; one son, Donald of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Doreen (and Gary) Richards of Council Bluffs; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lola Fisher, of Lamoni; and a sister-in-law, Doris (and Gordon) House of Colo.

His wife; a son, Gary, his parents, two sisters, Geneva and Marjorie and a brother, Elvin, all preceeded him in death.

Graveside services will be held Oct. 28 at Colo Cemetery with the Rev. Sung Park presiding.
