Obituary ~ Mary E. (Ryder) Post
April 09, 1860 ~ January 5, 1894Decatur County Journal
Leon, Decatur County, IowaDied – Mrs. MARY E. POST, at her home in Leon, Iowa, January 5, 1894 of catarrh and consumption. She was born at Barre, Wis., April 9, 1860. Her maiden name was RYDER, and she was united in marriage to Mr. JAMES J. POST, October 27th, 1874. She embraced the gospel of Christ on April 11, 1890, at Lamoni, Iowa, being baptized in to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. POST was the mother of five children. Father, on brother, two sisters, and a host of friends, are left to mourn her loss. She was, so far as we know, a good mother, a true and faithful wife, and from the time she received the gospel till her death, a devoted Saint. She passed away without a stuggle in the faith and hope of the gospel. The funeral services, including the sermon, were conducted by Elder J. R. LAMBERT, assisted by Elder HERMAN C. SMITH, in the Saints chapel, on Sunday at 2 p. m. A large and attentive audience was present. Her remains were interred in the Leon cemetery.
