JAMES HARL PITMAN, son of JAMES HENRY and EMMA LENORE JOHNSON PITMAN, was born June 29, 1903 in Leon, Iowa, and died Sept. 27, 1983, age 80.

HARL attended and graduated from Leon High School. At an early age he became a barber and followed that trade for nearly 60 years in Leon.

On Decatur 25, 1927, he was united in marriage to UNA JOSPEHINE PATTON of Woodland, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, JAMES EDWARD and CHARLES JOSEPH.

HARL was a member of the United Methodist Church of Leon.

Preceding him in death were his patents, an infant brother, CLAIR, two half brothers, FRED and HARVEY, and one half sister, OLA HACKER.

Survivors include his widow, JOSEPHINE; son JAMES and wife MYRNA, Grand Junction, Iowa, son CHARLES and wife JUDITH, now living in the country of Oman; three granddaughters: REBECCA KEY, JOYCE PITMAN and SUSAN PITMAN: two grandsons: JOHN PITMAN and NIEGEL PITMAN; and many friends.
