December, 1952Mrs. Flora Annis (sic) Johnson was born in Polk County, Iowa, near Bondurant, December 11, 1865 and passed away at Murray, December 17, 1951 at the age of 86 years and 6 days. She was united in marriage to Henry Louis Lillard, March 11, 1886. To this union three children were born. The oldest daughter, Mrs. Ann Yaden, passed away in August, 1949. Mr. Lillard passed away October 9, 1915.
When a small girl she moved with her parents to Decatur County and settled near Garden Grove. For many years they made their home near Garden Grove, where she took a very active and faithful part in the Methodist churches at LeRoy and Garden Grove. She was a member of the PEO lodge of Garden Grove and a member of the Eastern Star. For the past 11 years she had been in poor health and living in nursing homes in Osceola and Murray.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Earl Smith of Charles City, Iowa; one son William Maurice Lillard of Murray; one sister, Mrs. Minerva Howard of Bellingham, Washington; six grandchildren, and seven great-grand children.
Funeral services were held from the Miller Funeral home, Thursday afternoon at 1:00 with the Rev. Lester Hall officiatng. Emil Rinderspacher sang "In the Garden" and "Sunrise, Tomorrow". Mrs. R.L. Westfall accompanied. Burial was in the Garden Grove cemetery.
