December 28, 1875 ~ May 20, 1949Miss Judith Farquhar, daughter of Thomas and Esther Farquhar, was born December 28, 1875 at Humeston, Iowa. Here she grew to womanhood and received her early education in the schools of that place. After her early education she taught school for 35 years. Then she transferred to the Glenwood State School at Glenwood where she had worked for the past 25 years. Here she had been a loyal, faithful worker loved by her fellow workers and all who labored with her. Always was the best interests paramount in her life. Constantly was she busy doing for others, and many will long remember the number of kind deeds which she did for those whom she loved. She united with the Methodist church early in life and was a loyal christian until her death.
She departed this life on Friday, May 20, 1949, after a short severe illness.
She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Mrs. Frances Bishop of Grand Junction, Colorado. Three nieces, Mrs. Lera Holmes, Mrs. Merna Wilson, Mrs. Juanita Barfuss. Two nephews, William and Duane Farquhar. And a number of other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial service was held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the James Reed funeral home in Glenwood. Graveside services were held the Garden Grove cemetery at 2 o'clock Monday.
