Obituary ~ Sarah M. (Hoffhines) Duvall
1835 ~ June 06, 1894

Died – SARAH M. DUVALL of Paralysis, June 6th, 1894, at the home of her sister Mrs. PAT MULLIN, of Eden township, Decatur county, Iowa. Home county, Ohio. Her earlier years were spent there. In the fall of 1860, she came to Piat county Ill., where she met and married ANDREW DUVELL. To this union was born eight children, six of whom survive, JIMANACE R., OLEND J., JONAS N., GEO. W., OLLIE and ODELL. Her husband’s death occurred August 10, 1883.

She came to Decatur county, Iowa, March 17, to visit her brother JONAS HOFFHINES and sister MRS. MULLIN, intending to spend the summer here, but was taken sick five weeks ago, and that kind and loving relatives and friends could do was of no avail and she passed quietly away in the afternoon of June 6.

She was a kind Christian lady, was a member of the M. E. church. She was taken to her home and laid by the side of her husband in the Piatt [County, Illinois, Marquiss] cemetery.
