Obituary ~ Alice Ella (Hacker) West Coffey
November 19, 1900 ~ February 1979

Alice Ella Coffey, daughter of John Fredrick and Alice Jane (Johnson) Hacker, was born Nov. 19, 1900 in Van Wert, Iowa, and died at her home Feb. 5, 1979, age 78.

Alice spent her youth in the Van Wert area. She attended school in Van Wert.

She was married to Clifton West Nov. 19, 1919 at the Weldon Methodist Church. To this union were born on son, Raymond, and one daughter, Alice Luella (who died in infancy).

On Sept. 7, 1952, Alice was married to Carl E[dward]. Coffey at the Leon Methodist Church.

Alice had been a member of Leon Chapter No. 352, Order of the Eastern Star; Leon White Shrine No. 42; Past Matrons Club; and Harmony Club; active member of Loving Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church Women. She was employed in nursing services for many years.

She was preceded in death by parents; infant daughters; and six brother and sisters.

Survivors are husband Carl; son Raymond and wife Marie, Portland, Ore.; stepchildren, Richard and wife Jean, Freeport, Ill; Darrell and wife Illa, Menomonie, Wis.; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; brother, Joe Hacker, Lincoln, Neb.; and sister Ruth Poch. Cheyenne, Wyo.; other relative and friends.
