Obituary ~ Susan Louise (Hall) Robson
June 06, 1946 ~ November 15, 2013

Susan Louise Robson, age 67 of Leon, Iowa, daughter of Arthur Charles and Coy Berniece (Sapp) Hall, was born June 6, 1946 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Susan died at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on November 15, 2013.

Susan’s family moved to a farm outside Van Wert, Iowa when she and her sister were young girls. Susan attended Popcorn Country School and graduated from Leon High School in 1966.

She was employed with O’Bryan Brothers for 20 years, and Susan worked as a garment inspector. Later in life, Susan was married for a short time and lived in Baxter, Iowa. After her husband died, Susan returned to Leon.

Ruth, Susan’s older sister by sixteen months, was a very important part of Susan’s life. They owned a home together in Leon for several years. After Ruth made her home in Ottumwa, Susan always looked forward to visiting her and sharing time together.

Susan was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Leon. She enjoyed attending Sunday School, helping with church dinners, and had served as liturgist for worship services. Susan was also a member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and was honored for her significant weight loss.

An animal lover, Susan liked her horses on the farm growing up, and her white cat “Snowflake” while she made her home at Parkview Apartments. Susan did very nice embroidery and knitting and enjoyed giving her handmade gifts to friends.

Also preceding Susan in death were her parents; half-brother Richard Hall; and half-sisters Betty Davis and Gladys Partch.

Surviving are her sister Ruth Hall of Ottumwa; half-sister Freda Hoffman of Des Moines; nieces and nephews; special friends: Nancy Cotterill, Delaine Ploessel, Chet Redman, Hank and Suzy Anderson, and Diane Steele; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home, Leon, Iowa, with Rev. Jack DePond officiating. Interment at Waveland Cemetery, Prairie City, Iowa.
