Fred H. Berry, 71, of Des Moines died on May 13, 2007 at the Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th. It was his wish that his body be donated to Des Moines University.

Fred retired from the Des Moines Public Schools and was a decorated Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his four sons, Jerry (Robin) Baker of Des Moines, William (Becky) Berry of Altoona, Nicholas Berry of Bondurant and Kurt Berry of Urbandale; his sisters, Colleen Broughton and Eva Cooper as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia [Caroline (Baker) who died July 15, 2004, and was interred at Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa].

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh on 56th.
