Obituary ~ Shellie Anne (Ramsey) Sponsler
July 15, 1962 ~ September 30, 2014Shellie Anne Sponsler, daughter of Jerry LeRoy Ramsey and Joyce Anne (Hatfield) Hughes was born July 15, 1962 in Leon, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 52 years of age.
Shellie received her education in Murray and Clarke Community Schools, where she was very active in sports, graduating in 1980. She was united in marriage to Michael Paul Sponsler in November, 1989 at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa and Katie and Tyler blessed this union.
Shellie was the Postmaster for the Humeston Post Office. She was baptized in the Murray Church of Christ.
She enjoying quilting with her friend, Karen Hartman. She enjoyed being with family and friends, listening to music and golfing. She had a great love for her kittens and her new dog, Sophie. Relationships were very important to her, which showed when she was ill being surrounded by family and friends.
Those relatives who preceded Shellie in death were her grandparents, Evelyn and Wilbur Hatfield, Amye and Leonard Ramsey.
Shellie leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Katie Sponsler of Osceola, IA; son, Tyler Sponsler of Princeton, MO; mother, Joyce (Raydean) Hughes of Humeston, IA; father, Jerry LeRoy Ramsey of Osceola, IA; brother, Mitchell (Donna) Ramsey of Osceola, IA; nieces, Alyssa Ramsey, Amye Ramsey; nephews, Travis Ramsey, Jabe Ramsey all of Osceola, IA; aunt, Patty Manley of Grand Junction, CO; cousins, Greg (Mary) Manley of Malvern, IA, Keri Manley of Grand Junction, CO, Jakeob (Mariah) O'Very of Grand Junction, CO, Justin O'Very of Grand Junction, CO as well as other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be directed to her family to establish a college fund for her children.
Memorial services were conducted at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola, Iowa, at 11:00 a.m. October 4. Interment was made at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
