B.F. KOGER was born in Harrison Co., Mo., Dec. 5th, 1848; died at his home
in Des Moines June 7 - 07 at the age of 59 yrs 6 MO. and 2da's. Mr. KOGER
was married to Miss CATHERINE CREES March, 1869. To this union 10 children
were born, six of whom are still living, also the mother, to mourn the loss
of a kind father and loving husband. Mr. KOGER came with his parents to
Decatur Co. when a small boy and grew to manhood on what is known as the oldKOGER farm at the mouth of Long Creek. After his marriage he settled on a
farm just south of FRED CREES where with his family he resided until 18
years ago when they sold out and moved to Mo. and later to Des Moines, wherehe resided at the time of his death. He was stricken with paralysis on
Decoration Day and continued to grow worse until Friday, June 7 at 1:30 p.m.when he departed this life. The remains were shipped to Grand River
accompanied by the family Saturday and were laid to rest in the Funk Town
Cemetery. A large crowd of relatives and friends gathered at the depot to
meet the bereaved relatives and to pay the last tribute of respect to the
deceased.
