OBITUARY -- CATHERINE (CREES) KOGER - Mother of Bettie (Koger) Woodard,
Grandmother of Grace (Woodard) Woods.

Catherine Crees Koger, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Crees was born Oct.
19, 1849 in Jefferson County, Iowa, and died Nov. 29, 1931 at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Abraham Lincoln Woodard, at the age of 82 years, 1 month
and 15 days.

On March 25, 1869, she was united in marriage to Benjamin F. Koger of
Decatur, Iowa and to this union eleven children were born, six of which are
living. They are: Michael A. Koger of Gold Hill, Oregon; Elizabeth A.
Woodard, of Decatur, Iowa; LeRoy B. Koger, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Mina
Cunningham, of Des Moines, Iowa; Hattie M. Hodges of Redfield, Iowa; and
Charles W. Koger, of Des Moines, Iowa.

She has been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood and has always
lived an active Christian life since. She was a kind and loving mother and
friend, and always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. She
had lived the greater part of her life in Decatur County. Her husband
preceded her in death on June 7, 1907.

Besides her children, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Maria Eller, of California
and one brother, Joseph Crees, of Grand River, thirty-six grandchildren,
twenty-one great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Four brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, December first at 2:00 p.m.
at the Maple Grove Methodist Church, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. James
Wilkins, after which interment was made in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
