At the residence of MR. WILLIAM HART
southwest of town, occurred the
death of MISS HARRIET GRIFFETHS by poison
which she administered to
herself. Her mind has been unbalanced for
some time and Wednesday
evening she swallowed a dose of "rough on
rats". A doctor was summoned
but help was of no avail and death came at
one o'clock Thursday
morning. She was a sister of MRS. HART and
comes from a respected and
influential family, and no cause can be
assigned, other than the one of
insanity. A brother from the eastern states
was in attendance at the
burial which took place at Eagleville, Friday
afternoon.
