Leon Reporter
February l4, l895

MRS. ELIZA CREVELING was born in Northampton
County, Pennsylvania, March
9, l803, and died at the residence of MR.
JAMES MCMORRIS, her
son-in-law, on Feb. ll, l895, and was buried
in the Creveling Grave Yard
on Feb. l2, making her 9l years, 3 months and
2 days old. MRS.
CREVELING was the daughter of PETER and SUSAN
SUQUE. She united in
marriage to CLENUELE CREVELING, May 22, l847,
in Blaumsburg, Columbus
County, Pennsylvania, and moved with her
husband to Iowa in l854, and to
Decatur County in l856, and with her husband
united in church fellowship
with the Fayette County M.E. Church in l870.
From that time until her
death, she was a true and faithful member.

MRS. CREVELING was the mother of 9 children,
4 of who together with her
husband having departed this life before her,
leaving her with 5 living
ones to mourn their loss. In her last
sickness she spoke of the
departed ones who had gone before saying that
although they could not
come to her, she could go to them. Such is
the lively hope. Such the
joyous expectation of the dying Christian.
Hence, blessed are the dead
who die in the Lord.

--THOS.
WALLER.
