SAMUEL LEVI PUGH was born in Louisa County,
Iowa, July 8, l852 and died
at the home of his parents north of Leon on
Jan. 7, l895, aged 42 years.
The deceased moved to Decatur County with his
parents in l856 and
resided here until l877, when he went to
Phillips County, Kansas. He
came back to this county the day before
Christmas to spend the holidays
with his parents, but was taken ill shortly
after his arrival, with
peritonitis. He leaves a loving wife and
five children to mourn his
death.

The funeral was held at the family home on
Tuesday, conducted by Rev.
G.M. Hughes, Pastor of the Leon M.E. Church.
