A good man has passed away. PETER B.
WALLACE, the subject of this
sketch was born in Ireland, June l2th, l8l7,
and died in south Leon,
Iowa, Sept. the 20th, l894. His age being 77
years, 4 months and 8
days. He came to his death by an accident,
his team running away.

The deceased was united in marriage to AM
SMITH at Tarryville, Conn.
april the l4th, l844. To them as parents,
nine children were born;
JAMES, AMIE, MARGARET J., HENRY R. HELEN S.,
MARY J., WILLIAM, AMIE B.
and AGNES P. Three of this number, JAMES,
MARGARET and WILLIAM have
passed to the city of the dead while the
other six remain to comfort
their dear mother, who had a narrow escape of
her life.

BRO. WALLACE was a believer in the Christian
religion having united with
the Baptist Church in the State of Ohio
before coming to Iowa, which was
about l850 or 5l. He was a careful reader, a
thoughtful thinker, a good
husband, a kind father, a faithful friend, a
true citizen, but his work
is done and he is at rest, precious in the
sight of the Lord is the
death of his Saints. His remains were borne
to the Meek's Cemetery and
laid by the side of his father to await the
resurrection of the just at
the last day.

affliction during the short illness of
husband and father and also for
