DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa June 27, 2012)

JACKSON, Alonial Gene, 84, of Braymer, Missouri, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Cowgill Cemetery, Gowgill. Arrangements were through Park Lawn Lathrop Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association. Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.

ALONIAL GENE JACKSON ... Alonial G. "Ioway" Jackson, passed away June 19, 2012 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, MO, at the age of 84 years young. He was born June 25, 1927 in Leon, IA, the son of Russell D. and Olive LaCora [Duff] Jackson. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie; daughter, Cherryle Jarrett; brother, Galen Olson; and sister, Mary Lou Honn.

Alonial served in the u.S. Navy during World War II. Upon discharge, he returned to high school to graduate. He met Naomi Fitzpatrick in May of 1947, and they were united in marriage on February 5, 1949. Their family grew rapidly, so in a bold move, he applied for higher wages. Alonial found his future career at the Ford Motor Company Leeds plant, beginning in March of 1952. He retired as a government inspector in August of 1982 at the Claycomo plant. Alonial was a member of the UAW Local 249 and a member of the Tweedy-Murray American Legion Post 117 in Braymer. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, tinkering about the house and yard, growing a garden while he was able and socialized over coffee at Braymer's Cafe.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Naomi; daughter and son-in-law, Michal "Mickey" and Bill Leamer; three grandchildren, three great grandsons, and other out-of-state family members.
