DEATH NOTICE:

BETHARDS, BETTY LOU (FOLAND), 76, of Shalom Park in Aurora, Colorado, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her home. A memorial gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9 at the Grand River Community Center in Grand River, Iowa, followed by a luncheon. Her ashes will be laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery, alongside her husband in a private family service.

BETTY LOU [FOLAND] BETHARDS ... In loving memory of Betty Bethards, who passed away at her home at Shalom Park in Aurora, Colorado the morning of May 30, 2102.

Born to Herbert and Mable Foland on February 3, 1936; Betty "Flossie" graduated from Grand River High School in 1954. She married Ralph Bethards on October 27, 1956. Together they had three children; Darrell, Angela (Alwell) and Dora (Weissenburger).

She is survived by her children, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and her brother Herbert Eugene Foland (wife Doris) and was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She was loved - she touched all who knew her. Although her life was rife with adversity, she rose above it with grace and dignity. She was always cheerful, smiling, loving, giving, and always believed in the best in everyone. Her passing will leave a hole in all of our lives that will never be filled.
