DEVORE, Gerald "Jug" Dean, 81, of Osceola, Iowa, died on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his home. No services are planned at this time.

GERALD "JUG" DEVORE ... Gerald "Jug" Dean DeVore, son of Spencer DeVore and Helen [Pierce] DeVore, was born September 2, 1930 in Decatur County, Iowa. He passed from this life on April 5, 2012 at his home in Osceola, Iowa at the age of 81 years.

Gerald grew up in Van Wert. He was united in marriage to Joyce Marie Anderson on December 13, 1953 in Van Wert, and three children blessed this union, Rod, Renee and Lynn. They made their home in Van Wert until moving to Osceola in 1962, where Gerald worked for Snowdens and O'Briens.

Gerald enjoyed being in his garage working on numerous projectes. He enjoyed time outdoors going camping and fishing. He loved watching NASCAR races and tending to his farm on Facebook's Farmville.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce; sister; and grandson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, son Rod DeVore and wife Karen of Osceola; daughter Renee Vestweber and husband Vance of Garden Grove; son, Lynn DeVore of Osceola; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, Gerald has been cremated. No services are planned at this time.
