DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa April 25, 2012)

REDMAN, Kenneth Leonard, 62, of Frankford, Delaware and formerly of Leon, Iowa, died on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his home. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, at Melson's Funeral Home in Frankford. Interment service was held immediately following at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro with Military Honors.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

KENNETH LEONARD REDMAN ... Kenneth Leonard Redman, 62, former Leon, Iowa resident, passed away April 15, 2012 at his home in Frankford, Delaware.

A memorial service was held Thursday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Melson's Funeral Home in Frankford. Immediately following there was a burial service with Military Honors at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

Kenneth Redman was born February 12, 1950 in Osceola, Iowa to Elizabeth and Maurice Redman.

He graduated from Central Decatur (Leon) High School in 1968. He then attended Centerville Community College for 2 years and Northwest Missouri State University for another 2 years. Ken then joined the US Army in 1972 where he met his future wife of 36 years, Donna Durbano.

Ken served for 22 years in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany, Pennsylvania, Panama and Colorado. At the conclusion of his service to his country, he began a second career with the United States Postal service, where he worked for 16 years.

Kent loved his Sunday's on the beach; enjoying them with friends, family, a little fishing and drinking a cold beer.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Redman of Frankford, Delaware; son Ryan Redman currently residing in Arlington, Virginia; daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren Amy and Joseph Peca currently living in Hershey, Pennsylvania; and brother Chester Redman of Leon, Iowa.
