“Mrs. Pearl Grimes died at the Dacatur County Hospital last Sunday night. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Wednesday. Out-of-town relatives and friends here for the services were: Mrs. Louis Hird of St. Cloud, Minn., Bernice Norman, Veola Norman and Mr. and Mrs. Green of Troy Kan., Mary Radnich and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Severe of Des Moines, Mrs. Darrell Clark of Chariton, Mr. and Mrs. Demay Reynolds of Pella, Mrs. Lowell Reynolds of Oskaloosa, Vera Fairbanks and Linda Henderson of Independence, Mo. Mrs. Hird stayed looking after things until Saturday. Mr. Hird came Friday.

Several from here attended the funeral of Cecile Grimes Elder at the Stewart Funeral Home in Leon last Wednesday.”
